Wedding Theme: Denim Neo-classic

Guests, What to Wear?

Wedding Theme: Denim Neo-classic
When we say "Denim Neo-classic," we pay respect to the traditional elements in weddings, but we want you to look beyond the cookie-cutter things and have fun in being creative (but not necessarily spending a lot, or perhaps not spending anything at all) on what to wear for our wedding.

It's about infusing the old with the new, combining the classic with the out of the box, and putting a new-school or even a non-conformist touch to what is typically worn during a wedding. And most importantly, be yourself. As we will be...

Maybe there's denim on your clothes, your bag, or your accessories. Or you may want to wear a Star Wars costume with some denim and white lace touches... Up to you!!

Even the designs for our wedding will mostly be made of recycled materials. We don't have to be "overly consumerist" about it. We are ambitious, yet practical. We are dreamers. We are creatives. What matters is that we have fun and we put worthwhile meaning to this wonderful occasion.

We Finally Got Hitched! Thank you, Everyone!!!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us in our two-month preparation for our wedding. It was indeed a roller-coaster ride, and we wouldn't have gotten through everything without for your help and support.

We really appreciate even the littlest things and kindest and most supportive words from a lot of friends and colleagues as they learned about our wedding plans. Many of you offered varying means to help -- and such mere gesture already helped us a lot in its own touching way.

Planning a wedding in a span of only 2 months wasn't easy. I'm sure any couple who already tied the knot would agree. Why 2 months? To cut the long story short, we wanted as much family members to be with us during our wedding. And since most of my family members live in the US, the suddenly ideal timing for our wedding would mean doing it on September 2014.

Wedding is like preparing for a shoot... it's like our usual production work, except that instead of us getting paid for the project, we're the ones producing the project entirely. Since my record for fastest prod ever is 2 weeks from nothing to breakdate, 2 months seemed feasible. But we know it would be a really tough 2 months. We took the challenge, took the plunge and we're glad to know we got through it. We knew that our works would be affected, and we thank our colleagues and friends for understanding our situation.

We can't ever repay those kindness and warm and encouraging words we got everywhere. Even though some of you found it outright crazy that we're doing everything on our own -- no wedding planner -- only ourselves working on things and completing everything within the 2-month time frame, compared to a lot of couples working things out for 1 to 2 or even more years, planning something not conventional, and pegging a budget of 100k for everything (which turned out about 150k inclusive of the additional stuff pertaining to wedding-related things from the biggest to the smallest errands and requirements)...

Aside from being a thank-you blog to express our utmost gratitude to everyone who has been part of our quick and challenging wedding journey, this blog is also dedicated to other readers who may find it helpful to know certain things for their own wedding plans. We actually relied a lot on wedding-related blog posts and websites to get the best advice, the ideal wedding venue and the right suppliers, as well as getting countless how-to's in doing things -- many of which, we really didn't know how to work them out at all. Indeed, Google did its part in leading us to the many blogs and websites that can guide us through the whole process. So now, to return the favor, after the long thank you posts that will follow this very first post, we will also try to post as many significant details worth sharing, which may help other engaged couples out there.
