Philip and Rianne Wedding Proposal Video

Here's the link to the Youtube video: http://youtu.be/gTGJNT51CVg

Thank you to the conniving people behind this video and the proposal: Karl Gaurano who shot, directed and edited the video; Teddy Katigbak who scored the video; Teddy and Malou Katigbak for fronting as the production house people referring Rianne to the client needing a music video/AVP for the hotel; Dustin Uy, the couple's good friend and go-to guy for camera equipment who lent his BMC for the proposal; and Voices of 5 who shared their awesome singing talent to further make things happen.

Video shot with a BMC Pocket Camera, Canon DSLR and iPhone.

It was a long day, then this happened that evening. So these were the things that happened before and during the proposal...

The night of June 28, 2014, Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Timog Quezon City. Yes, the hotel was conniving with them as well -- including the "good-acting guards" who assisted Rianne at the parking area.

It was supposed to be a first client meeting/project briefing for a music video/AVP project for the said hotel, which Rianne was supposed to direct. It was really a long day back then and that night was the last appointment for Rianne. Early morning to after lunch was a very tiring but really exciting and amazing time as she attended a Manila Trip project with Carlos Celdran and Jag Garcia. This was a project of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCAD) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde-School of Design and Arts (CSB-SDA) where Rianne is a part-time film faculty.

The invitation from her boss, SDA's Digital Filmmaking Program Department Chair Jag Garcia (now Philip and Rianne's ninong for their wedding), was extended to Philip, so Rianne and Philip went in for an awesome ride aboard the CSB bus, together with other artists and media people invited for the said pioneering project.

Now as "Manila tourists," we visited different film-related places around the City of Manila -- places where different local and international films where shot through the years. It was a great time -- rare, that is -- as we Filipinos would have such a tour in other places except Manila (the idea that "you're already from there, so why bother touring the city like a tourist...").

Those participating had a lot of photos for the said trip. There were also videos courtesy of Benilde and media people covering the project.

It was such a wonderful day full of Manila history and arts and culture heritage that filmmakers and film enthusiasts would really find very interesting, except that, it was our first time to "tourist-walk" around that part of Jones Bridge and Pasig River where we realized firsthand how bad the situation of the river was. It was smelling so bad and the water wasn't water -- it was like oil, as black and as icky as black oil. These words were included on the early part of this proposal video where Rianne mentioned something "kadiri," the water being like black oil. Meanwhile, Philip also had the unfortunate incident during the trip to step on a literal piece of shit. So there's that additional stinking smell. EEEw. Yeah. Ewwww.

Actually, everyone was stinking that day because of the pollution, the sweat from the scorching heat of the sun, and most of all, the ultimately terrible stink of the poor Pasig River (Gawd, can we please do something about it? If there's something being done already, it's not enough!). But amidst that, the trip was still definitely worth it for all those historical details, arts and culture heritage, photos and videos and the very experience of being there for this tourist endeavor.

That night, without any chance of Rianne taking a post-trip bath (Philip was able to in the cozy hotel where he prepared. Nice.), Rianne went to the meeting with slight paranoia that she was still stinking, amidst putting on a Victoria's Secret perfume to mask the Pasig River smell on her clothes, hair and skin.

And so it went for these two film/production people... (FYI, there was an unintended "Take 2" for the couple's proposal scene :-p So how more film-like or production-like could it be?)

;-)
